Nike : Hyperfuse

Nike Hyperfuse technology is an innovative upper composed of an assembly of three different materials, which when joined together form a single piece that makes up the entire upper of the shoe.

The Hyperfuse takes its inspiration from street-ball players in China, who play with ultra-light running shoes or hiking boots for strength and durability, so the idea was to combine these two features in a single shoe. The first layer forms the skeleton of the shoe, the second layer is made of mesh for lightness and breathability, and a third, more solid layer reinforces the shoe at precise points where it is under constant stress. These three layers are assembled using a high-temperature press that welds them together. The result is a single piece with a minimum of stitching, which makes for greater lightness and freedom of movement, while retaining full support for the foot and ankle.

Hyperfuse is a technology that brings together several essential features for basketball, which is why this upper can be found in numerous models such as the Nike Kyrie 2, the Nike Zoom LeBron 9, the Nike Zoom Kobe Venomenon 5 and the Nike HyperRev 2016.
