A legendary franchise from the US state of Florida, the Miami Heat have been playing in the NBA since 1988, the year they were founded. Although relatively recent, the franchise is already one of the League's greatest teams, with 3 champion titles in 2006, 2012 and 2013.

The Heat has gone through several great periods, the first of which began under Pat Riley with the acquisition of Alonzo Mourning in 1995. Mourning formed a talented duo with Tim Hardaway, and the team went on to reach the conference finals. In 2003, a new era began with the drafting of Dwyane Wade, joined by Shaquille O'Neal a year later. The duo won the franchise's first title in 2006 against the Dallas Mavericks. 2010 saw the formation of the South Beach Big Three, made up of Wade, Chris Bosh and above all LeBron James, the superstar from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Floridians went on to win two back-to-back titles: in 2012 and 2013.

In recent years, the Miami Heat have regularly distinguished themselves by qualifying for the playoffs, led in particular by their star Jimmy Butler, assisted by players such as Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro.
