Giannis is like a hurricane on the court, relentlessly overwhelming his opponents with relentless endurance and skill. The avant-garde design of his latest signature shoe propels you onto the court while offering a lightweight fit that accompanies your movements. It lets you make quick changes of direction, while providing lateral stability and multidirectional grip for powerful euro-steps. This special colorway is inspired by the exceptional power of the Greek Freak and his ability to set floors on fire, match after match.
Behind the Design
The Alexandria lighthouse, one of the 7 Wonders of the World, was used to guide thousands of ships safely through the Egyptian harbor. During the day, a reflective mirror on the lighthouse floor reflected sunlight to guide the ships. At night, a fire was lit. The fiery red colorway reflects the Greek Freak's competitive spirit, and the towers on the tongues are a reminder of its power and grandeur on the field.
Forward
The lightweight midsole is perforated under the forefoot to accommodate two Zoom Air units. These compress under your weight, then spring back into shape to return energy. They are slightly angled to propel you forward and enable you to attack the basket like a sprinter bursting out of the starting blocks.
Attack from all angles
The computer-generated outsole features a pattern reminiscent of a topographical map for multidirectional grip. It optimizes ground contact and changes of direction.
Stability to stay fast
A lightweight, durable foam reinforcement is integrated into the outer part of the midsole. It helps stabilize the foot on the insole during rapid lateral movements.
Cut-outs in the foam under the toe and heel to reduce the shoe's weight.
Molded grooves in the rubber outsole allow the shoe to bend.
The molded inverted Swoosh is a signature detail of Giannis' Freak shoes.
